Pre-School
A 3-year-old is full of wonder, very social, and getting independent! This is the wonderful stage where parents often hear the declaration: “I can do it myself!” as well as the popular question “Why?” Our teachers encourage this independence while providing a warm and nurturing atmosphere to develop self-confidence and a love of learning, while positive social skills, such as good manners and cooperation are also reinforced. Children are given opportunities to make decisions and encouraged to make good choices.
We provide many activities in the 3-year old program to emphasize language skills, letters, and sounds. Themes like “Letter of the Week” make learning the alphabet fun and exciting. Math skills are developed through counting, recognizing numbers and shapes, classifying, and measuring. The children participate in art activities that help to develop fine motor skills (such as cutting, pasting, painting, and coloring) while expressing themselves creatively. Weekly and seasonal themes expand on all the continuing programs. We also begin to offer special, extra-curricular programs (for example: dance, soccer, and computers) as well as field trips, to help broaden their experiences and exploration.
We will help your child grow from an emerging toddler to a confident preschooler during their year in our 3-year old program. When they move on to our Pre-Kindergarten program, with confidence, they will be heard loud and proud saying: “I did it myself!”
